go docters,

cos thats infection
You may have damaged your cuticle. You should see a doctor if it is black and breaking. Maybe they can give you some kind of medicine for it. Sometimes they remove the damaged nail so a healthy one can grow in.
Definatly go see a doctor! It can cause an infection (the one that leads to your heart and you ...uh die) and it may be contagious!!
wow I'm so sorry to hear this but i really do think you need to go see a doctor before it get worst and they might can tell you with can make your nails stronger and take care.
You might have diabetes.
You really should get into a doctor, it could be something major, but it could be something small. Did you bruise it? Black could be from a vein that ruptured and bruised, but really you should have it looked at. Good Luck!
sounds like a fungus. get some nail fungus solution at the beauty supply or walmart,cvs.. Also visit a foot doctor. If left untreated you can lose your toenail and it may not grow back
You may have some type of fungus which happens more often than you may think. Go to a foot doctor %26amp; get that checked. If it something that he can fix then I wouldnt be waiting no time to get that out %26amp; gone.
I agree with Jacqueline. It sounds like a fungal infection.

She's also right that it is contagious.

Your doctor can prescribe alacquer to paint on, or even tablets, but it'll take 6 months at least to grow out.

You should also use a separate towel to everyone else.
My grandfather has something very simular to what you have described. The infection spread to his leg which latter had to be amputated. He latter died due to a cross infection which was related to the toe infection. I'd say you have a week or two at the most to live.
