Is getting my nails done a bad idea

i have acrylics and im wondering if i keep them on too long will my nails become damaged. should i take them off for a while? Is getting my nails done a bad idea
Yes you should for a little while. Try UV gel nails they are better for nails and last longer (they might be about $5 more expensive but well worth it).Is getting my nails done a bad idea
ur only supposd 2 keep acrylics for 2 weeks. ur supposd to get them redone after that, or take them off.
you sholud go at least one week a month with out acrylics to let your real nails breathe alittle
u can leave acrylics on for 2 weeks but then u have to either re fill them or take them off for a while
yes definitely wouldst want an infection
yes take them off for a while or at least get them redone all of it

Is it possible to nail down a place of my own? I want one but have no real idea!?

I'm 31 and due to mainly financial reasons and me being in and out of work for a fair few years, plans of getting on the property ladder have been on a back burner.

I don't want an appartment or a flat but I do want a house of my own, even it if is a basic one/two bedroomer.

I don't have a girlfriend or somebody who could contribute to additional income, but is it seriously possible to get a mortgage on my own singlehandly??

If I had for example, take-home pay of 1100 a month, could I manage??

Can somebody also explain to me the shared-ownership scheme?

I'm uk based by the way so I welcome views for people who have been in my situation and have managed to work things out and progress

Cheers

NumarkIs it possible to nail down a place of my own? I want one but have no real idea!?
I earn roughly 1300 per month.

Im looking to get a place of my own in the coming months. Im a debt adviser so i see alot of people struggling with bills and give alot of budgeting advice.

I've worked out that i could afford at most a 拢400 per month mortgage and maintain a vague social life on my current income.

the trouble is mainly whether a bank/building society would lend to you. which depends on your credit rating and their lending policies.

I have condition on my nails called a bar rot, any idea how to cure it?

I,ve been bartending for the past 7 years about a year ago i started developing bar rot, which is caused by lemons, limes and constant moisture of hands. It has been getting worst and worst, it has transferred from one finger to now seven. I need help any idea how to cure it, i've been to dermatologist what he gave me doesn't seem to work. helpI have condition on my nails called a bar rot, any idea how to cure it?
As you go to bed, put PURE aloe on your hands and then sleep in moisturizing gloves.

Aloe has healing properties. If you have an aloe plant, just break off a stem/leaf and squeeze the juice onto your fingers. Otherwise, go to a health store and ask for pure aloe, not the stuff you buy on the sunscreen aisle. Pure aloe is clear, not blue or green.

The gloves can be found in the health and beauty section of Wal-Mart or Target.I have condition on my nails called a bar rot, any idea how to cure it?
I've never heard of that before, but I can understand how that can happen. Why not try the simplist thing that comes to mind? You need to keep moisture and the acids away, so why not try clear fingernail polish? You can also try beeswax, it is invisible, I would gently heat the beeswax and apply, rubbing off the excess...
Corn starch at night before you go to bed. I'm not 100% sure on this but I think it's a lot like a fungus, so if keeping them dry (with the cornstarch) doesn't work then use Lotramin. Good luck!

If you have thin finger nails, is it a good idea to go and get some false nails.?

I don't want my real nails to fall off because they so thin. Someone help me with the problem. If you have thin finger nails, is it a good idea to go and get some false nails.?
no they will keep growing....use nail strengthenerIf you have thin finger nails, is it a good idea to go and get some false nails.?
Yes, please listen to the other girls and do not get acrylic nails. I have learned from experience how badly they can damage one's nails. I used to have really strong nails and when I got the acrylics taken off.. they were paper thin and were breaking all the time. I am just not getting my nails to grow back stronger and thicker. I defiantely don't think you should get this done. If you really want to then I hope you plan on continually getting them redone, which is also a hassle. Maybe you should incoorperate some vitamins into your diet, that could be a reason why they are so thin.
NO!! absolutely not!! your real nails underneath will become dead-looking and unhealthy and having thin nails already will put them in a worse state. use nail-thickening nail polish and your problem with thin nails will be over. you'll have thicker nails then it would be ok to talk to a nail tech to find out if you will be able to use fake nails yet.
Well the glue is just gonna speed up the process. See your doctor, it sounds like something is wrong.
The fake nails especially the acrylic will stop your real nails from breathing. You probably should take a vitamin like biotin or the sells ones that are for hair %26amp; nail growth.
No! Never get false nails!! It destroys your nail bed and your nails will only become thinner. If you HAVE to have long nails for one night, just get some press-on nails and then take them off after your party. Plus, fake nails look really stupid when they're growing out... and your nails will always grow!
When you have the fake ones put on they sand your real nails down so they glue will stick better, if they are already thin it will just make them thinner, then when you are tired of the fake ones your real nails will be horribly damaged and you will have to grow the whole thing out. Sally Hansen makes a nail strengther that is clear and it works great. You can put colored polish on top then but they won't bend or break.

  • Fake nails, are they a good idea if your have brittle nails already?

Im debating getting fake nails, my nails have been really soft (I can bend them backwards ick) and peel or break really easy. Im assuming because this is a side effect of a medication I took, Anyhow I wanted to know if I should go for fake nails? Im trying to grow out my nails and they always wreck..any recommendations? Ive tried nail hardners and they don鈥檛 work!!Fake nails, are they a good idea if your have brittle nails already?
no! dont its going to be a real pain taking them off just get a manicure and have them put whatever nailpolish color u like but fake nails are only gonna make it worse cuz the glue will hurt ur nails, and if u want to make them strong, in the middle east we have a nice home remedy for nails to grow and get stronger is smash some garlic 2 pieces then get some olive oil and rub this mixture on ur nails and leave for like 10 minutes keep massaging ur nails with it then wash it off do this for like a week and ull see a differenceFake nails, are they a good idea if your have brittle nails already?
fake nails is not a good idea. when u remove the fake nails you nails will be brittle try the garlic. you can smash a clove and put it in the base coat you use. try it, your nails will get harder.
I would have to say yeah fake nails...but i had them before and they are kinda annoying. Like i dyed my hair and some of the brown dye got into the nail...you have to get them done every 2 to 3 weeks they say. They are also expensive. I would get them filled(which means when they put more acrylic gel material over the nail every like 3 weeks to a month because it is like 18 dollars to fill them. It is 28 dollars to just have them on. Another tip is use clear nail polish that helps keep nail polish onand helps your acrylic nails look better longer.
Take some prenatal pills it will make your nails stronger, I wouldnt recomend fake nails, because what if you band your nail and the whole thing comes off?
you should deff. go to the doctors they have a special antibiotic that can strengthen your nails i would say hold off on getting your nails done i get my nails done and when u take them off sometimes they can make your nails brittle so old off
yes, fake nails are a good product..

Some better than others, as with all products...
I USE TO BITE MY NAILS SINCE I WAS LITTLE BUT IN APRIL I STARTED PAINTING THEM AND NOW THEY ARE SO LONG AND I TRY TO PAINT THEM EVERYDAY AND FILE THEM. GETTING THE FAKE ONES RUINS THEM SO BAD!
I don't use nail hardener but I do use a hard as diamonds nailpolish but Sally something. It doesn't chip and does strengthen and grow my nails.

I don't suggest fake nails because they ruin your nails.
absolutly not! you have no nails if you already have brittle ones. Go to gnc and try the ';hair, skin, nail'; supplements to harden your nails before getting aryclic.
Do you mean fake nails as in Lee Press-Ons, or do you mean acrylic or gel nails...?If you mean gel nails, they'll make your natural nails worse down the road.
I have the same problem with my nails, no matter how many nail hardeners I've tried none of them work. I finally got a set of acrylic nails put on and I love them. I would definitely recommend them but only if you are going to maintain them because when you take them off your nails are really soft. But I love them and an added bonus is that polish stays on a lot longer, too.
You can put fake nails on at home and get them removed professionally at a salon. that way you wont damage your nails and they'll look great!

Im having my hair rebond and i have no idea what color for my nails?

please give me some ideas or maybe you can say yes or no.i mostly would like it black .how about your choice for meIm having my hair rebond and i have no idea what color for my nails?
Try this out; go to the www.opi.com web site and use the ';Try on this color'; tab. Then you will see a virtual hand model that has a skin tone (six different skin tones) selector that can be move horizontally to match your skin tone.

On the right hand side is a another selector which moved up and down and the hand model nails shorten and lengthen./

Far right is the color selection, you can choose from shades, collection, etc. Whenever you move your mouse over the color, the name of the nail polish comes up, click on the ccircleand a dot appears and the virtual reality nails will change to that color. Find your best match and favorite shade. I might suggest, ';OPI Black Tie Optional'; or something from their Russian Collection.

Of course, this gives you only an idea what the nail color i

like in front of the class ideas. What is a good idea for presenting a science project on the intugementary systems? (how nails grow) and stuff.
IF you have a good bit of time, you could get Friends to take certain supplements that help growth and others that didn't. Then get all of them to come in (or just clip their nails and take them, yummy) and compare and contrast. Also include the benefits of strong nails and what actually causes them to grow or weaken in your presentation.

Just the gross factor if you take the clippings will leave a memorable impression. What is a good idea for presenting a science project on the intugementary systems? (how nails grow) and stuff.
Since nails and hair only grow from the roots, what shows most is actually not the part growing. It might be interesting to debunk the myth that nails and hair still grow after death. A lot of people believe this and it isn't true. The nails and hair will appear longer because the surrounding tissues are decomposing.

Does anyone have any idea why the skin at the side of my thumb nails splits?

I'm fairly sure that this is caused by vitamin and mineral deficiencies. I can't find my copy of Adele Davis to check!

I think it may be silica and/or zinc. Certainly vitamin E should help some.

Make sure you are getting a really good diet, rich in minerals and vitamins - organic food is generally best.

Take a good multi-vitamin and mineral supplement as insurance.Does anyone have any idea why the skin at the side of my thumb nails splits?
whose doesn't?Does anyone have any idea why the skin at the side of my thumb nails splits?
Dry cuticles. The only way to keep them from splitting is to keep them moist and vitamin E is great. It's an oil, it promotes new skin growth.
your hands are probably dry, use moisturizer
Because the skin may be dry. It happens to me when I happen to be in West Africa during the Harmattan season (on most of the fingernails, not just the thumb). Apply a moisturiser to your hands frequently. Perhaps taking in plenty liquids can also help?
maybe you're having a wound or a callus
i think we call it the dead skin.
dry skin in the winter,it cracks when it gets to dry...

Will my low budget cemetery idea catch on? I supply the lots, shovels, wood and nails and my customers do?

the rest at a huge savings. The service will be conducted by a hologram of the funeral director and accompanied by a recorded program. Paper flowers will fill the room. Will my low budget cemetery idea catch on? I supply the lots, shovels, wood and nails and my customers do?
Well, ya got a problem here. I already have that market sewed up.

My low cost service, $29.95, is a top seller. Really very simple. I tie a gopher to each foot of the dearly departed and fire a warning shot. Will my low budget cemetery idea catch on? I supply the lots, shovels, wood and nails and my customers do?
What about a Drive-In funeral, where you drive up to the first vacant one-plot-fits-all space and simply slide the coffin off your back seat into the hole? If it's not big enough, you just ask the attendant to ';Supersize me';. You can pay the fee by credit card at the machine located at the exit barrier. A nice idea would be to incorporate an automated car-wash too .....
I like the idea, but what about just wood, gas and a match. Land is getting expensive these days. Or maybe 1/4 size lots to bury people standing up. Not much of an answer but I'm for it.
It depends on how much money people really save over the traditional funeral.

That and if the whole scheme is 100% lawful...
I love it!!! I'm not payin for the hologram though, I will just order a singing telegram for the eulogy.
I think it depends on who your customers are.
    Great idea.

    Do you offer a lay-away plan ?
Will I have to bury myself? You should install a cremation-o-matic too with a coin dispenser.
Nah there is nothing like the human touch
I don't know maybe, I don't see people that sad who would want to bury them themselves.
    Not for me.

    Maybe my cheapo friends.

I dont want to take up any space on earth when I'm dead.

NumarkIs it possible to nail down a place of my own? I want one but have no real idea!?
You will need a 10 - 20% downpayment %26amp; your house should be no more than 2 1/2 to 3 times your gross pay.

If you can not meet these requirements, I doubt any bank will loan you the money. Is it possible to nail down a place of my own? I want one but have no real idea!?
It depends on where you live and what house prices are like in your area ..

Typically you might get a Mortgage for a maximum of 4x of your salary before Tax ...

(maybe up to 5x, if you go to a specialist broker and pay extra for 'Guarantees' and you have NO other loans and always pay off your Credit Cards in full every month)

With a take home as low as yours, I doubt your annual salary exceeds 20k so the maximum (5x salary) Mortgage you can ever expect to be offered is about 拢100k .. (to be honest, it's more likley you will be offered 50-60k)

You will also have to put down about 15% of the cost .. i.e. about 15k .. so at best you might be able to afford a place costing 拢115k ... it is possible to find a house in some parts of the country at this price, but not really in London or SE.

Shared Ownership schemes are offered to people in 'essential jobs' or on low income who have good credit - various Councils and Builders (and some specialist lenders) offer theses schemes, often in connection with 'social housing' ... if you qualify you buy part of the house (and live in it all) by the Council / Builder owns the otehr half (and may charge you some 'rent' for living in their half)

Such schemes plainly made sense to lenders when house prices were going up (they got to own half of an increasing asset) but with prices falling you will be lucky to find such as scheme ..

I think you need to set your sights a bit lower than a house .. or flat, or apartment .. perhaps you should look at 'Mobile Homes' ....

My nails are growing crooked. Any idea why?

For the last couple of years, i have noticed that the nail on my index finger and middle finger has been growing crooked, and it kind of curls up at the end. Any idea why this is happening? My nails are growing crooked. Any idea why?
A fungal infection can cause the nail to come in crooked. Maybe you have an infection under the nail or under the cuticle? If the actual nail surface is rippled, it is a good indication of an infection. If it's just the end, then you probably chew it too much or something.

I have bitten my nails for so long.Ive tried everythin 2 stop. I need NEW ideas please help me!!!?

It's embarasing. I want to stop but just have done everything and it wont work. If ive bitten them for like 15 years...will they even grow again?

HELP MEEEEI have bitten my nails for so long.Ive tried everythin 2 stop. I need NEW ideas please help me!!!?
I stopped biting my nails when I realized what it was doing to my teeth...it damages your teeth and makes the edges rough. I know they put something out on the market that tastes bitter to remind you not to bite them, but I found simple nail polish remover works just as well, and it doesn't rinse off easily.

Or, you can try keeping your hands busy by taking up crocheting, or try applying fake fingernails to your own and leaving them on till your own grow out.I have bitten my nails for so long.Ive tried everythin 2 stop. I need NEW ideas please help me!!!?
chew gum, or wear gloves for a while.. as much as possible! may look silly but you're not gonna want to chew on a glove, especially if like me chewing wool goes through me!

or you could buy some of that stuff you paint on your nails if you've not tried that already.

another technique is the elastic band distraction technique which apparantly helps to break habits. everytime you find yourself biting, or having the urge to bite, keep an elastic band around your wrist and snap it, it distracts you from wanting to bite your nails.. worth a go anyway?

    good luck!
Check yourself when are you biting your nails?

    What is the real problem?

    Put aloes on your hand

Try adding calcium to your diet

Try rubbing your hands with something you can't stand smelling
try chewing gum or hard candy maybe that will help you with your oral fixation

~ This is very common in dogs that have food allergies. A dog that has a food allergy will lick their feet a lot. The Sylvia is what turns the feet red specially on fawn or white dogs. This is very common for dogs on a wheat based diet.

What dog food are you feeding. My guess is your dog has built up an allergy to the food. Change the food immediately. Give it about 3 months, trim the nails, bath your dog every two weeks and trim the hair and see if after 3 months the feet are still turning red.

Go with foods like Innova, Orijen, Merricks, Solid Gold (barking at the moon), Go!, Wellness Core, etc.

ADD: Both foods you are feeding are horrible for dogs, they cause allergies because of all the corn, sugar, salt, by products...it is not good stuff. Go to www.naturapet.com to see where to buy quality food. This is why your dog is having problems.

Food is the fuel of all life. The quality of the fuel directly relates to how well the body can operate. Low quality dog food, such as Beneful, Pedigree, Ol’ Roy, Purina, Eukanuba, Iams, Science Diet, etc., are filled with *empty* calories. These foods are made with keeping costs down in mind, *not* in the best interest of nutrition. When you think of healthy food, do you think of Nestle or Mars (both heavily invested in producing candy)? What about Del Monte (heavily invested in produce, especially corn…)?

Heck, just go to Beneful’s or Pedigree’s websites, they’re full of promotions, coupons, streaming audio and video, and heart-warming catchy slogans; they know that as long as they paint a pretty picture, the “sheeple” of the world will think it must be good because they got a warm and fuzzy feeling by the advertising.

Let’s take Pup-peroni (by Del Monte), for example, a quick scan of the ingredients raises eyebrows:

       - Meat By-products – Definition: The non-rendered, clean parts, other

than meat, derived from slaughtered mammals. It includes, but is not

limited to, lungs, spleen, kidneys, brain, livers, blood, bone,

partially defatted low temperature fatty tissue, and stomachs and

         intestines freed of their contents

       - Sugar – Because all dogs need sugar, right?

       - Propylene Glycol – Here’s a few uses of this chemical (from Wikipedia):

+ As the main ingredient in deodorant sticks

+ As a medical and sexual lubricant

+ As the killing and preserving agent in pitfall traps, usually used

            to capture ground beetles

+ As a solvent used in mixing photographic chemicals, such as film

            developers

+ In hand sanitizers, antibacterial lotions, and saline solutions

How about Pedigree (made by M%26amp;M’s company Mars), you know ‘Really good food for dogs’:

       - First ingredient – GROUND WHOLE CORN (read, nutritionally void filler)

       - Corn Gluten Meal – This is a well-known (even patented) herbicidal agent

used for weed control in lawns and gardens!

       - Wheat Mill Run – Definition: Commonly referred to as ';floor sweepings';,

this ingredient is nothing more than inexpensive filler with little or

         no nutritional value.

       - Chicken by-product meal: Consists of the ground, rendered, clean parts

of the carcass of slaughtered chicken, such as necks, feet, undeveloped

eggs and intestines, exclusive of feathers, except in such amounts as

might occur unavoidable in good processing practice. Chicken by-product

costs less than chicken muscle meat and lacks the digestibility of

         chicken muscle meat.

Chemical additives aside, let’s analyze the recommended serving size between Pedigree and a quality food like Orijen. Being that Pedigree is mostly fillers, your poor dog has to eat so much more just to get the calories to survive when compared to a quality food that actually contains real meat. You ready?

        Pedigree (50-75lb. dog): 4 to 5-1/3 cups a day

        Orijen (45-75lb. dog): 1-3/4 to 2-1/2 cups a day!

Orijen costs more, but you feed less, AND the quality is superb. Just look at the difference in the ingredients and it’s painfully obvious which is a quality food.

Pedigree: GROUND WHOLE CORN, MEAT AND BONE MEAL, GROUND WHEAT, CORN GLUTEN MEAL, ANIMAL FAT (PRESERVED WITH BHA/BHT), WHEAT MILL RUN, WHEAT FLOUR, NATURAL FLAVOR, SALT, POTASSIUM CHLORIDE, CARAMEL COLOR, CHICKEN BY-PRODUCT MEAL, RICE, VEGETABLE OIL (SOURCE OF LINOLEIC ACID), VITAMINS (CHOLINE CHLORIDE, dl-ALPHA TOCOPHEROL ACETATE [SOURCE OF VITAMIN E], L-ASCORBYL-2-POLYPHOSPHATE [SOURCE OF VITAMIN C*], VITAMIN A SUPPLEMENT, THIAMINE MONONITRATE [VITAMIN B1], BIOTIN, d-CALCIUM PANTOTHENATE, RIBOFLAVIN SUPPLEMENT [VITAMIN B2], VITAMIN D3 SUPPLEMENT, VITAMIN B12 SUPPLEMENT), MINERALS (ZINC SULFATE, ZINC PROTEINATE, COPPER SULFATE, COPPER PROTEINATE, MANGANESE PROTEINATE, POTASSIUM IODIDE), ADDED FD%26amp;C AND LAKE COLORS (YELLOW 6, YELLOW 5, BLUE 2, RED 40)

Orijen: Deboned chicken, chicken meal, turkey meal, russet potato, lake whitefish, chicken fat, sweet potato, whole eggs, turkey, salmon meal, salmon and anchovy oils, salmon, natural chicken flavour, sunflower oil, sun-cured alfalfa, dried brown kelp, carrots, spinach, peas, tomatoes, apples, psyllium, dulse, glucosamine Hcl, cranberries, black currants, rosemary extract, chondroitin sulfate, sea salt.

You can apply this same analogy TO EVERY SINGLE PET FOOD IN THE GROCERY / CHAIN PET STORES!

NEWS FLASH: Science Diet is crap food too! Yes, your vet makes *MONEY* by selling it, not to mention a SIGNIFICANT number of veterinary school programs ARE FUNDED by Hill’s!

There is nothing scientific about their “diet”. The science they use is how to make a profit.

Quality foods: Innova, California Natural, EVO, Karma-www.naturapet.com, Wellness, Wellness Core, Orijen-www.orijen.ca, Canidae, Merricks, Artemis, Taste of the Wild, Nature's Variety, Solid Gold-Barking at the Moon, Go!, Now! Canidae- www.canidae.com, Eagle Pack Holistic Chicken (avoid regular Eagle Pack)and Timberwolf.

Current pet food regulations allow manufacturers to use ingredients that you would never knowingly give to your pet. In fact, you may be shocked to learn what some brands of pet food really contain. For example: the use of by-products (feet, bones and intestines, etc.), the 5 Ds, (dead, dying, diseased, decayed, drugged), chemical preservatives (BHA and BHT) and grains that are often difficult to digest (corn, wheat, gluten and soy), which are often used as a protein source instead of meat.

These last grains are what cause most pets to have allergies. Corn based allergens fed into your pet that you did not know about.

I was shocked and disgusted when I first learned about how most all commercially processed dog foods are made and their ingredients. I became an educated consumer wanting the best for my dogs. They say the most dangerous woman in the world is an educated dog mother. How true!

That is why I will never feed any brand name dog food from Pedigree, Purina, Eukanuba, Iams, Ol'Roy, Beneful, Diamond, Nutro etc. ever again.

They are made with dangerous ingredients and deadly additives that are literally bringing our dogs to an early and painful death.

Have you looked at the ingredients on Pedigree and Purina? My dog's paw is red, but not swollen. His nails and paw hair are growing out red too. Any ideas?
Well, in all honesty, if your skin on your feet suddenly turned red, and your nails and hair started growing out a crimson color, would you not be at a doctor already?

Animals need and have doctors too, they're called vets.

    Give yours a call.
Well I think I would check with a vet, it doesn't sound too normal. Why wait for something bad to come out of it. It has been two wks.
he may have internal bleeding, a bug bit, or tissue damage.

    Hope This Helps! :D
is it bleeding if so allergies. if he is licking it get a cone sadly
it sounds like he might have an absess, have it checked out.
That is red yeast due to a food allergy. Very common in most bully breeds. He also may be allergic to grass, especially cut grass. Like my above poster said get him on a better food. Dyes can also be an allergen and the 2 foods you give him have tons of it. I breed bulldogs and I feed foods free of corn, wheat, and beef. These are the things that set off the allergies. I am sure your dog has a lot of white and this results in very sensitive skin. Not unlike fair haired and skinned humans. I personally feed Evo but natural balance has a good allergy formula. What you need to do is find a food that has one protein and one carb (grain such as brown rice, quinoa, etc) keep it low residue which means low in fillers. From here you can hopefully find the culprit. I would add food you eat to it like shredded apples, bananas, carrots, cottage cheese. This of course is slowly as you need to find out what is. The other thing with the nails being red he could be walking funny on them. Some times my mama will have red nails almost like they look to be bleeding but she ran funny and stubbed it somehow. That goes away. If you don't clip his nails take him to have it done at least every 4-3 weeks keep them short as that is a big amount of weight on those feet, LOL. If is is red yeast it should go away or slow down with the antibiotic. Good luck with your big lover!

When I was in high school it was a big deal to get those fake acrylic nails for special occasions, and then just keep up with them for weeks after. Let me tell you, when the time comes to take them off you will find your nails thin, brittle, damaged, sore and very short. Your nails need exposure to the air to grow properly. Covering them in acrylic prevents. Not to mention, have you ever watched a nail technician apply the acrylic? They cover their nose and mouth because inhaling the powder from the acrylic is BAD FOR YOU. On top of those things, under the nails is a prime spot for bacteria to grow. I remember reading a few years back about there was a number of deaths of infants in hospitals attributed to bacteria that had been growing underneath a nurse's acrylic nails.

Your best bet would be to buy a nail growth/hardener (for example, Sally Hensen's Triple Strong Advanced Gel Nail Fortifier) and Vitamin E oil for your nails and cuticles. Natural nails look so much better than acrylic nails (which clearly look fake). Good luck :)
Okay, the best bet I will go for is store bought ... OMFG if you go to the salon and get it done ... your nails are ruin for eve babe. DON'T get them done there. Store bought is better. You just need someone to put them on you with the glue.
i get mine done sometimes and it is kinda bad for your nails because when you take them off it takes some of your real nail off with it but they have nail nourisher stuff you can buy and its not that expensive
    How old are you?

Need ideas for a day of pampering my girlfriend. So far, nails, dinner, movie.?

Anyone have any other ideas I can do to make it a day for her? Dinner and a Movie's kinda for both of us, I wanna do something that's mostly for her. Does anyone have any ideas similar to getting her nails done? When you say ';spa'; I don't really know what else they do there. I know she might not want to change her hair yet, so not sure if ';doing her hair'; works, or even what it means. I'm not sure if girls like tanning in the winter. But any suggestions are welcome. Thanks.Need ideas for a day of pampering my girlfriend. So far, nails, dinner, movie.?
spa= massage, pedicure (toe nails done) manicure (finger nails done) or a hair cut (if she wants one)

gift card to the tanning salon (if she's into tanning)

walk aimelessly around the mall, you could buy her some lotion or perfume from bath and body works or victorias secret.Need ideas for a day of pampering my girlfriend. So far, nails, dinner, movie.?
I would say send her to a spa. Every spa is different. But, if you're going with this, make an appointment for her to get a massage. Like a deep tissue massage. Girls love that. It's pampering and relaxing. Plus, as a bonus, as she's getting the massage she'll be thinking of you and how sweet you are for doing it for her. But, don't' go with her. Let her think about you when you're away. Hope this helps. Good luck!

The thumb nail on my foot, has changed color and has become dry & britle. Any idea what this is, if so any rem

Sounds like onychomicosis. You need to take medication like Lamisil for months for this to clear up. You need to see your doctor about this. However, if you don't have insurance one of the home remedies that work is rubbing Vicks Vapo Rub into the affected toenail nightly. This will take longer to clear up but if you make it part of your nightly foot care, it will become routine. The eucalyptus in the vicks helps kill the fungus. Also tea tree oil is good for this too. Just depends on what you can afford. The thumb nail on my foot, has changed color and has become dry %26amp; britle. Any idea what this is, if so any rem
Sounds like fungus... Go to the doctorThe thumb nail on my foot, has changed color and has become dry %26amp; britle. Any idea what this is, if so any rem
Sounds like nail fungus. There is a prescription medication Lamisil, but it's really hard on your liver. Go see your doctor for any other options.
There is NO thumb nail on your foot. A thumb nail is on the thumb.
Could be eczema. Go to a dermatologist.
onychomycosis, fungal nail. Takes prescription meds to kill it, long time too.
It may be a fungal infection, ask your Dr about Lamisil
Take special precaution if you are a diabetic. Consult your doctor.
It is a fungal infection. You need to get an antibiotic from your Dr. If you don't feel like going to your doc then try soaking your foot in Listerine. If the infection isn't very bad then that will clear it up. Good luck.
its an infection of the nail bed. talk to your doctor about antibiotics
Your first issue is that you have a thumb on your foot. Can I see it?
yup nail infection get to foot dr and let him treat it, espically if your a diabetic

I've never had acrylic nails. Are they a good idea to get put on?

I just want to see what they'd be like.I've never had acrylic nails. Are they a good idea to get put on?
If you aren't sure about them, try using glue ons, as they will do less damage to your natural nail. If you still aren't satisfied, try having tips put on (they glue or silk wrap a plastic tip to your natural nail, then blend it so it becomes one long nail, then you can have it airbrushed or hand painted to look french, colored or with designs. Acrylics ruin your nails, please don't do that to yourself! There are also risks of infection, and even chemical poisoning if you happen to be allergic to one of the many ingredients. We stopped offering Acrylics at my salon because too many people were having reactions, or were upset that they had ruined their beautiful natural nails.I've never had acrylic nails. Are they a good idea to get put on?
I've had acrylic nails for about 10 years. I love the look of them and probably wont ever have them off.

However, they do damage your natural nail bed.

You also have to watch out for microbial / fungal infections.

It's also not recommended that you submerge them in water too long so if you are a swimmer, surfer etc they aren't a good idea.
i've got them done several times, and i really like them! i get tired of them after a few weeks and rip them off though. haha. when they come off my nails are a little weird but after a few days they're back to normal. when they're on they look adorable. you should definitely try them!
they ruin your real nails and you will have all kinds of bacteria growing under them.they make your real nails brittle and it will take forever to grow them back out not to mention the pain of getting them removed.
No they're not. They ruin your real nails but as long as you don't wear them all the time, I think you should be fine. Gel nails are better though...they just cost a little more.
No, your nails get very sensitvie, they are pretty, but its worth letting them grow out.
well theres no hurt in trying!

besides they come off in a few weeks and look classy too!

My dog hates her nails being clipped. Do you guys have any ideas?

My dog for some strange and slightly weird reason always has large nails. We trim them but they grow back like a week later. I try the best that i can to make it comfratable to her but she like will never stay still. I pretty much always have to wrap my legs around her stomach and then I have to cup her paw around in my hand. She hates the sound of the ';click'; and when she can hear it she swivles her head and pulls on her paw. I NEED HELP!My dog hates her nails being clipped. Do you guys have any ideas?
try to do it when she is tired ike after a walk give her tons of treats and keep talking to her so she dosen't her the sound tell her good dog a lot say i love you and stuff like that if that dosen't work try it when she is eating or sleepingMy dog hates her nails being clipped. Do you guys have any ideas?
I have a rottweiler and he used to be the same way about getting his nails clipped. He would actually knock all the stuff over in the groomers. If you are personally clipping her nails, you could be getting too close or maybe at one time got too close and are hurting her, causing her to remember that those clippers can hurt her? Maybe taking her to a professional a few times in a row might help. I actually take mine to my vet, and there is a vet tech there that he loves and she does it. You know there are other ways to keep the nails down and not having to consantly trim them. You can take her for a walk on black top/cement...that helps to file them down. They also have a dog nail file at Petsmart/Petco that you can purchase. You would have to sit down with her and get her used to those but it wouldn't be so bad. I don't think it is normal to cut a dogs nails every week. One of my dogs has longer nails then the others, but the red vein that runs through the nail is long as well..so we can only have it clipped to that point. I really think that you may have clipped a little to close to her nerve endings, especially clipping them every week. Best of luck to you!
Handle her feet every day. Give treats and praise.

In a week or so you can start. Get her when she's ready to nap, not when she's full of energy. Don't rush. Do one. Give a treat and praise. Do another one. Be careful not to ';quick'; the dog. Just remove the tips. Go slow. If it gets too stressful. Try again later that day or that week.
maybe take it to the groomer.. if she wiggles around you might accidently hurt her and clip it too close. Also, it sounds like she hates her paws being touched. a lot of dogs are like that but that can be easily fixed. Our groomer suggested we play with our puppy's paws on regular basis (gently rubbing them) so he feels comfortable getting his paws touched. so we do that every day. same thing with his ears. we rub his ears (not sticking our figers IN it, but rubbing the ear flaps and muscles around it) so he feels comfortable when it gets touched for grooming. Play with her paws and take her to the groomer.
The treat to distraction method works pretty well. But, I found that using a dremmel file instead of the nail clipper doesn't bother my Eskie as much. I discovered this when I took her to be groomed and they used one without muzzeling and pinning her down which is what you have to do to avoid being snapped at or having her slither away. I put it on low speed and literally file the excess nail away.
My staffie was like that. I will give her an extra special treat that she only gets when I'm done clipping her nails. It only took a few times until she would stand still knowing the reward at the end. Use really good nail clippers and clip alittle off every week. I love these nail clipper. All clip no nail squish.

I have to do the same thing for my dog. I have my hubby give a good ole belly rubbin while I clip. Takes 3 mins max now that I've trained myself. Get GOOD clippers too, cheap ones take more time.
have someon give your dog a constant flow of treats while her nails are being clipped, but make her work to get them out of the person's fingers.

I have ridges on my finger nails any idea what might cause this?

well first of all its not a birth defect, not every one has it, and its not caused by just one specific thing.....it can be caused by having artificial nails of any kind and not having them removed properly. but that actually causes your nails to feel wavy (from the bed to the tip) not have ridges (form side to side) using a buffer is a great idea and should really help but that will just get rid of them, they will probably come back. the real cause for long term ridging of the nails is that the outer enamel is worn away allowing your nails to bow up sorta.....and this is caused by a calcium deficiency (like someone said malnutrition, not having enough calcium in your diet) go to the drug store and try to find a calcium supplement ( its not as complicated as it sounds, just go to Walgreen's, rite aid, cvs, even walmart....these pills are not expensive and dont really have any side affects because it isnt a drug its a vitamin-type supplement, it will smooth out your nails, and help them be stronger so they grow out easier, and dont chip and break ) {this will also help with your hair and teeth btw} also, ridges and lack of shine go hand in hand as symptoms of calcium deficiency, so try a hair and nails supplement to keep them shiny! g/lI have ridges on my finger nails any idea what might cause this?
Many people have them... Buy one of those rectangular buffers from boots...I have ridges on my finger nails any idea what might cause this?
I used to have that, then I stopped using colored nail polish and just used clear, which I don't pick off. I always used to pick off my old nail polish. Once, I went to a nail salon and they said that is why I have those ridges. So you could try just clear..

Or do what the others said, like buffing or vitamins, as it can be a sign of unhealthy nails.
Everyone has that, use a buffer.
i dont know but mine do thesame thing...try buffing them out with a 1-2 step file
    Malnutrition.

';ridges - horizontal: follows illness or injury, infection, malnutrition, thyroid disorder

    ridges - longitudinal: aging, slow absorption of minerals %26amp; vitamins, thyroid, kidney ';
Well if you had fake nails and took them off then that's why, but if you haven't, then it could just be your nails are unhealthy and you need to take vitamins that are geared towards healthy nails.
If u have always had this then don't worry about it ... if its recent cud be a vitamin deficiency ...
maybe if u have been doing any outdoorsey work latley or housework that might be why. if so get ur self a manucure and buy some products that can stop this in the future.
hey, nails like our hair and skin show a persons state of health, nails become like this as we get older due to our nails thicken and becoming brittle

if a persons not that old it can be due to a poor inner body state, maybe you need to look at your diet and fluid intake, its also cause d by trauma to the nail bed this will cause ridges in the nails also, you can try smoothing out the nails with a buffer, nails become this way also due to some types of medication, so look at the possible causes and see what you thinks yours is, been a beauty therapist for many years so trust me on this, good luck
    umm calcium defficiancy...
    Tell me do you exercise?

    Are you overweight?

Do you suffer from greasy hair?
i have those, my doctor said its part vitamin deficiency, and part abuse from my job, which is labor intensive and i crack my fingernails a lot and just generally makes them look like crap. you should start taking vitamins (just a daily multivitamin) and if you have a job like mine try to wear thick canvas gloves if possible. i don't do either of these because im lazy, but im sure they'd help :| alternatively, you could try a brush-on nail treatment. i don't have any reccomendations for those because i've never found one that works. good luck.
    Birth defect.
my friend had the same and her beautician told her it was down to stress!
I've had problems with my finger nails for years. Always splitting and flaking and wont grow. Friend who's a nail technician suggested I use OPI product called Nail Envy - a clear nail polish which you apply every other day, take it all off after a week, and keep repeating. Expected immediate results and was disappointed - but after several months things improved. My nails are long and strong now and I recommend it to many friends who have been delighted with it. Lack of oxygen, how are his lips? Is the colour ok around them? Is he breathless or tires easily? Get to a doctor asap, or a hospital! This is not a thing you can ask Y!A for a diagnosis!!

That shows a lack of circulation. Try pushing down on the nail, when it turns white let go and count how long it takes to come back to color, it should be no longer than a second.
    Poor oxygen saturation, poor circulation.
a build up of carbon dioxide.
That is a classic sign of poor oxygenation... he has something wrong with his lungs or heart, usually.

My nails are soo weak! I have tried all the polish crap but they still just bend and break...any ideas?

    Hello Tracydawn22,

Breaking nails are very common. In medics there are usually described by the words 'brittle nails' 'cracked nails' or 'splitting nails'. It's very likely that your nail problem is the result of a lack of moisture (which can be treated with natural remedies - pleas e consult your general practitioner for this).

Meanwhile you can read more about the conditions at The HandResearch Nail Enclyclopedia:

I need to pull nails out of hardwood flooring. Any good ideas on how to go about this?

It is old hardwood (oak) flooring that was pulled up from an old house. Now I have thousands of nails to pull out of the wood. Are their any tips you can give for removing the nails?

Size-wise, they are like 16d nails.I need to pull nails out of hardwood flooring. Any good ideas on how to go about this?
Use a piece of board under the hammer so you do not dent or scratch the floor itself.I need to pull nails out of hardwood flooring. Any good ideas on how to go about this?
Drive them out as you would with any other nail. If the nails are ring shanks it is a done deal, you are not going to pull them out without splintering the wood. The best you can do in this instance is to cut the head then pull it through.

Drive the nail backwards until the point is flush with the wood, place a block under the hammer claw and pull. The block will prevent the hammer from leaving a divot as you pull.
There is a brand new solution, and without a doubt it is the best. Try a Nail Jack or Nail Hunter. I got one off of Amazon and I can pull anything. These tools are designed to GRAB, unlike a cat's paw or anything else. Pliers with an attitude. Plus, to dig out a nail that's at, or below the surface, this tool has a place on the back of the head to hit it with a hammer! This drives the tips under the nail head or in the case of a headless one, just below the wood surface to grab. The Nail Jack and the Nail Hunter have a built in fulcrum point to lever the nail up and out. Wow.
Hmm... Well, depending on where you live, this is a bad time of year to do it. The humidity makes the wood swell, making it more difficult to pull the nails. But, like one guy said, using a wonder bar is a good idea. Most hammers leave it difficult to accomplish the task ahead of you.

Best of luck! And wear goggles!
If the nails do not have large heads, pull them out from the back side to prevent splintering the surface. You may also want to think about driving larger headed nails inwards a bit, cut the back side off with a grinder and filling the head side with wood filler.
Get a Wonder bar at the hardware store, it's much better than a simple claw hammer for this sort of thing. And put a cloth or cardboard down, so you don't mar the wood when you apply pressure.

    Hello,everyone :]

I do my nails each week. Usually, I just paint them one, solid color but lately I've been getting into the more complex nail art.

I would really appreciate it if someone took the time to give me some tips on how to paint my nails and what to do and any ideas at all are appreciated!

I have a very light skin tone but it still haves that peachy color to it.

I will make a list of the colors available right now and if I can provide a link so you know exactly what the color looks like, I will.

Sally Hansen SALON #430 Mist You

Living Nightmare Black Nail Polish (REALLY cheap brand since I used it for halloween and super hard to remove like all dark colors but I'll use it if you have an awesome idea)

Sally Hansen French Shimmer 1 Natural White

Since this color is made for french manicure, the brush is thin and very hard to cover entire nail with.

I will try to find it if you have an idea for that color.

I also have little stick-ons for nails.

i know nothing about them. but nowadays the use of the word ';organic'; is just to draw attention and get a product to sell.

everything wants to be ';organic';, it's like a brand new fashion. ';organic'; doesn't necessary mean better.

    some day they'll make something made of sh*t and call it ';organic';

I cannot find brush on nail dry oil anywhere. Only a quick dry without oil...a thin topcoat. Any idea why?

It was nice because it acted as a cuticle (oily) softener as well as quick dry for the polish.I cannot find brush on nail dry oil anywhere. Only a quick dry without oil...a thin topcoat. Any idea why?
I don't know why, I guess it's not as popular as it used to be. But this place has it:

What if my toe nail is purple and I have no freakn idea what caused it???

I have been putting ice on it?!?!?!What if my toe nail is purple and I have no freakn idea what caused it???
You did something to it. If it doesn't hurt don't worry about it. It could just be a bruise or you stubbed your toe and didn't realize it. If it hurts then you might consider a doc. What if my toe nail is purple and I have no freakn idea what caused it???
Paint it red, jk. Sounds like a bruise or you shut it in the door or something. Wait for it to heal or go to doc. I would just paint my toenail a dark color until it is gone.
Happened to me once! No idea how i got it. Don't worry about it. I did paint it red!
    Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh................

I bite my nails but i havent bit them at all for almost two months & they have barely grown at all any ideas?

There is a product called Gelatin available at some supermarkets that promotes healthy nail growth.I bite my nails but i havent bit them at all for almost two months %26amp; they have barely grown at all any ideas?
I hate fake nails and tans. I can see the point of a weave if it is not overdone and applied properly.

I suggest using nail polish and a product with a horrible taste to it as an overcoat. Ask at London Drugs.I bite my nails but i havent bit them at all for almost two months %26amp; they have barely grown at all any ideas?
Try taking a multi-vitamin every day. I started taking them and noticed that my nails were growing faster and that they were also stronger.
get a manicure, they put special oils on your nails that will harden them and get them to grow.
try buying some nail polish that is specially made for nail growth. its usually a clear color
prenatal vitamins. people don't realize that even if you're not pregnant, it's a great vitamin for the hair and nails. will all grow beautifully.
My friend used to bite her nails and now her nails have stopped growing permanently...its been like ten years and there still barely a cm.

Sorry to scary you...but thats what biting does.

    Fake nails perhaps?
multi-vitamin, as for growth, dunno, i do know that if you keep them filed you wont bite, people only bite the jagged edge they feel then cant stop. file file file an you ll break the habit ,, lol till your watchin a really close Dallas cowboy game an bite till the dam things bleed an your wishin you still smoked,,,,,,, wait i got carried away. they ll grow with the vitamins, ask the pharmacist the correct ones an keep them filed .
well my sister bites her nails and she uses nail hardener which comes in any nail polish color. Clear nail polish always works either over your bare nails or over nail polishbut to make your nails grow you have to stop bitting them!
yes, soak them in warm water everyday for about 5 min.
smash a real garlic head and put inside nail pollish of your choise
try having a professional manicure once a week or every other week to remove residue, massage nails, and get rid of cuticles that can be stunting nail growth.

    This one takes the cake.

http://www.bardelbows.com/images/bardel2鈥?/a>Nail polish on your Pet Pooch ....Good Idea? or Bad Idea?
All i can say is: Poor dogs.

No dog wants to be dressed up for their 'masters' general enjoyment, they're dogs. They want to run around fields and get muddy, not have fashion coats put on and their nails painted. They should be treated as dogs and not dress up dolls. Nail painting is completely unnecisary.Nail polish on your Pet Pooch ....Good Idea? or Bad Idea?
I'm a dog groomer and I absolutely HATE it when people want me to put bows and polish on their dogs but since it doesn't harm the dog I can't refuse. The nail polish I use is specifically made for dogs. I have not and never will go so far as to do a french manicure on a dog, I don't care how much time I had or how much the owner paid. That is just way over the top.
I would think it depends on the animal. Some dogs chew their nails, and that could be unhealthy for them to eat the nail polish.

I think it is cute sometimes, but I think this whole small dog fad, dressing them up and all, is silly.
It looks so stupid. It must be terrible for the dog, could make them sick of they ate it and reflects on the owner's lack of IQ.
Poor dogs. Although they do have places that will give dogs a manicure. I guess as long as the polish is non-toxic and won't hurt the dog, it's okay. But I bet they feel humiliated
bad idea its the worst thing ever poor dogs and it looks stupid too

Perhaps you could trim your finger nails with nail clippers and then bite the clippings. If you carry the clippings around with you then you can bite them whenever you feel like it.

If you don't like biting your finger nail clippings perhaps you could try biting your toe nails.
i know how hard it can be to stop biting your nails! the way i managed to stop is that when i started thinking about where my hands had been throughout the day! yuck! after i thought about it like that, i never went back to biting my nails again! i hope this helps :)
scrape some of the stuff that is under your nails and look at it under the microscope. you're putting all the ';crap'; in your mouth! Gross! try it, it worked for me
eat onions and bite ur toenail instead
Chew gum and don't put them in your mouth.
its not that hard to stop, like seriously just clip them like a normal person

Would it be a good idea to get fake nails at an expensive salon then have walmart 'fill' them for much cheaper?

I want fake nails and i know walmart is cheap but i want better nails, so could i just get good ones and have walmart fill them or is walmart crappyWould it be a good idea to get fake nails at an expensive salon then have walmart 'fill' them for much cheaper?
Generally, one nail salon does as well as another. I'm not sure you would be wasting money to get a fill at wal-mart. Ask around, get opinions from others who you know have went to both places.Would it be a good idea to get fake nails at an expensive salon then have walmart 'fill' them for much cheaper?
I'm not sure i've heard of ';filling'; them but walmart nails for me don't last long, it depends on the person, i know someone whom it lasts weeks on, and me roughly 1 day. i say professional nails are much better and last so much longer. cheaper in the long run.
i think that fake nails are all the same. I could be wrong.

your nails arent strong enough OR you dont treat them right

haha you should get some nail strenghthening nail polish

    or get more calcium
You could do any of the following:

See a dermatologist, apply nail hardner every other day, wear gloves to wash dishes %26amp; cleaning, increase your calcium intake %26amp;/or take Biotin supplements (over the counter)
You need more fluid (water preferrably) and more calcium.

  • I have a pet rabbit but i have no idea how to wash her and properly clean her and cut her nails?

My parents don't have the money to go to vet. My parents say it costs a lot of money. Tell me about how much it costs to get her clean.Or get her nails cut. Plus her feet are covered with pee. I need to know how to clean her feet to.I have a pet rabbit but i have no idea how to wash her and properly clean her and cut her nails?
Fill the bath with warm water, not too hot, remember rabbits are smaller and will feel the heat alot more than we do. Make sure it's about 3 inches of water, anymore than that and she might get a lung full. Using a mild shampoo, gently rub it into her fur and feet, making sure her head is always a good distance above the water, chances are she'll stand on both legs so this will make your job a little easier, if she doesn't don't worry. Once you've given her a light shampooing, rinse her thoroughly but gently with warm water, always remember to check her head is a safe distance from it. Pat her dry with a towel and let her run around in a large box infront of a heater or fire for abit, not too close though you don;t want to roast the poor girl.

With regards to trimming the nails, just trim everything you can see through clearly. If it's pink it's painful.

Remember to clean her cage aswell, lots of fresh hay and shredded newspaper will make a happy bunny.I have a pet rabbit but i have no idea how to wash her and properly clean her and cut her nails?
Where has this animal been living? Rabbits HATE to be dirty, they should never be forced to live in an environment where they are constantly dirty. They must be cleaned out daily with larger cleanings weekly. They should not be bathed unless it is absolutely necessary. No weekly, monthly, whatever baths. In a perfect world they would never be washed in all of their lives.

It doesn't cost anything to get a rabbit cleaned. You don't buy soap, you don't even put them in water to do it. You get a towel and you wipe them off only in the areas they're dirty in. If it's really stuck on there, you get less than an inch of water in a sink or bucket and try again with the towel. That's it. You can cut her nails yourself too, get a pair of clippers at a pet store, they should be less than 5$ and you either wrap the animal in a towel and do it yourself, or get someone to help hold her.
One of my best friends used to breed and show bunnies (and I helped! :-D). Depending on the breed of bunny you have, you may not want to bathe it at all. Most longhair breeds don't do well with a lot of water. You'll end up having a big, tangled hairball! LOL. You can try putting your bunny in a tub with just a little water and rinsing her feet. In stores like Wal-Mart you can find bunny shampoo for about $6. If the fur on her feet isn't really too dirty, you can use unscented baby wipes to clean them. Make sure that the cage you are keeping her in is one with a wire bottom with a tray underneath. This will he keep her from sitting in her pee. As far as her nails, if you are comfortable with doing it and she is used to being handled, you can clip her nails yourself with the type you would used on a cat or dog. Hope this helps!
You can cut the nails with regular nail clippers just keep touching the rabbits feet when holding in different positions so when you cut them she won't freak out so much. The rear end part I hold her with one arm against my stomach and wash her bottom under lukewarm running water. They are not big fans of getting wet and their hair holds a lot of water .Shredded newspaper works well the ink stops some odor but sprinkle some yucca on the food it will take away the smelly waste of the bunny. Also when cutting nails if white hold up towards bright light so you can see the quick (vein) do not cut close to that
Go to a vet. If you cant afford basic vets bills to properly care for your rabbit you shouldnt really own one.

I'm sorry but it it deserves to be properly looked after. BUT things like that generally dont cost the earth... maybe like 拢20 for basic check (not including any vaccines or anything like that) this is important especially with clipping nails as if this is wrong it can cause BIG problems. Also, once you go one time, the vet will teach you how to do it yourself.

As for the feet... if they're literally just a bit unclean... warm water and cotton wool :) BUT check first theres nothing else going on to make them smell such as infection etc.

    Hope I helped!
    DON'T DO IT!

    Seriously.

If you want to keep the rabbit clean, make sure you clean it's cage! It will take care of itself.

Also, it's nails should not need trimming if it gets enough room to run around and stuff to climb about on.

The only thing that should ever occasionally need trimming are its teeth, which should only be undertaken by a vet.

Not a manicure, already did it..the other day, any links to cool nail art designs tha tare easy? Or ideas?

THANKS!I want to paint my NAILS....I am not sure how...any ideas?~?
    1. do you have the skills to do it yourself? if not, go to a beauty saloon and the manicure-person must have a catalog for you to study and choose your favorite.

    2. if you can do it yourself, try something graphic, like straight lines going across the nail. i think paintings of palm trees and butterflies aren`t so cool anymore.

My big toe nail is turning bright red but isn't sore at all, anyone have any idea of what it is?

sounds like you are an upside down Rudolph. My big toe nail is turning bright red but isn't sore at all, anyone have any idea of what it is?
I think your starting to get an ingrown toe nail.

My finger nails are going yellow and weak for some reason, any ideas what to do and what's the cause?

Your diet has been poor lately.

You are smoking or smoking more.

You lack dark green vegetables in your diet.

    Could be a magnesium deficiency.

Weak hair and or nails generally are a sign of poor diet or an underlying sickness. My finger nails are going yellow and weak for some reason, any ideas what to do and what's the cause?
You most probably smoke, don't you!My finger nails are going yellow and weak for some reason, any ideas what to do and what's the cause?
Could be fungal nail infection. My big toe nail is just like that. Visit your doctor for confirmation of this and he wlill probably give you a six week course of tablets which should clear it up. Good luck.
Are you on any type of (new) medication? Because that's a real common side affect....But it could be a fungus too, you should then go to the nearest pharmacy there is enough to cure that without a prescription.

If medication is the reason, you should use extra calcium (in tablet form) to strenghten your nail stucture.
smoking or a very bad diet either that your black and dont wash but i think its smoking mostly if you smoke
Sounds like it could be a fungal infection OR if you are a smoker this will stain your nails yellow.. if your a smoker you could try giving up (easier said than done I know - Im a smoker) or put a base coat of nail polish on your nails and this will stop the stain going onto your nail... if you think its an infection there are plenty of products you can use that you can buy over the counter at a pharmacy. HTH..
Well it's due to a nutricional deficiency. Your liver is probably in a poor way or its due to a lack of calcium or zinc, EFA deficiency or low stomach acid.

    *Eat broccoli, sprouts,cabbage,chicory,amaranth, all seeds.

*drink nettle tea(it's a panacea for delivering nutrients to the body)

    * take the herb milk thistle in 2 capsules a day.

    good luck
I smoke and my nails are not yellow. Another urban myth.
    you are probably decomposing
    It's probably:

    (a) you're a smoker,

    (b) you've got a bad diet, or

    (c) you wear nail polish too often

    Solve it by:

    (a) quitting smoking,

    (b) improving your diet, or

    (c) not wearing nail polish.
You may have some sort of fungus it would be in your best interest to see a physician. Or if you don't want to go to the doctor then use an over the counter anti-fungal medicine which may cost anywhere from $6.00 - $20.00. That is if you want the good medicine.
first sign of calcium deficiency !!

drink 2 glasses milk of milk daily (morning and night) to keep regular calcium intake.

include calcium rich foods such as cheddar cheese in your daily diet

you also get calcium chews / tablets from the pharmacy but proper diet is the way to go.

you get some nail strengthening moisturisers and also some nail applicators that say it can make your nails stronger. you can use them but without the right diet, your nails will continue to suffer.

if problems continue after few months of regular calcium intake - see your doctor

    good luck !
    Any chance your a smoker?!
Bad diet or a fungal infection. Eat better and/or see your doctor!
Oh my god have you seen a doctor you in big trouble!!! Kidding it's a lack of some or other vitamin. Easy to solve just takes a while
try the hand spa! and dont use nail polishes, posibilities that your nails become pail and black they can die! see a manicurist he/she can help you!
yeah, fags, or fungus. Stop smoking or beg (beg!!) your doctor for antifungals, as appropriate.
    they've gone brittle

ask your doctor for some treatment, happened to me
If you paint your nails frequently without using a conditioning Base varnish first, your nail surface will turn slightly yellow.

Take Zinc supplements also as this tends to strenghen your nails and are less likely to break, and condition your hands with Almond oil cream to keep your skin and nails moisturised.
sounds like a fungal infection or a poor diet. Go and see your doctor
you either smoke, you it is a fungal infection, go to your doctors about it.
i dont actually know what causes it lol, but to prevent it put one coat of rimmel london nail whitener (not for nail tips, as in french manicure, you put it on your whole nail) you will find this in boots. put one coat on each nail. be sure not to get actual white polish, this thing is more of a treatment for the nails, its a transparent white colour.

and once you have this, you need opi nail envy, this is great, it makes your nails hard, shiny, smooth and glossy, and it also contains iron and calcium which your nails absorb, i have both these products myself, they work wonders! i had the exact same problam, now i have perfect nails! oh and you can find opi nail envy in boots too, if you dont want it from there they have it on ebay too. hope this helps! xx

oh ps you can put both these on as a varnish base coat too!
the yellowness in your fingernails can be caused by a number of things

    :poor diet

:and a proper body cleansing program

:also a vitamin deficiency usually zinc

i reccommend you buy zinc supplements and

improve your diet ad loads of fresh fruit and veg

    instead of chocalte have nuts

if the problem persists i recommend talking to your doctor and you not be afraid

    all the best iz
do you smoke? if yes then the answer is staring at you in the face.

You color the under side of your nail so it kinda looks like a french manicure. It's just to make your nails look crisper and neater.I got this nail whitener pencil and i have no idea what its for or how to use it.?
It gives you the French Manicure look.

Clean your nails with a brush and scrap any dirt from under the nail out.

Then swipe the pencil under the nail and Voila! you will have very healthy looking nails.I got this nail whitener pencil and i have no idea what its for or how to use it.?
I have a friend who uses that. Instead of using the old style of adding the white nail polish on the tips to make a french manacure. They now have the white pencil. You still need the white strips you can buy them at any make up store and you put the strip on the tip of the nails then you take your white pencil and fill in the gaps.

I get mine down professionally but you can save money and time by doing it at home. she seems to think it works well.
Wash your hands with hot/warm water and it will soften your nails, so when you apply it - it will look much whiter. Don't apply it if your hands are bone dry.
I used one of them a year ago.usually u apply it to your white tip on your nail and leace it there and it will make it whiter if you have a yellow discouloured nail. Ive used a calcium nail pen they make it stronger and whiter
It's used for a natural manicure with either a sheer, clear or no polish. You run it UNDER your nail to better define the whites.
Where would you get one of these pens? Wouldnt it make a mess on your finger tips?
but most of the pencils wash of with water so the first time you wash your hands it will be gone
Run it along underneath your nails for a neat maicured look when you dont have the time. Just slick a clear polish overtop and voila ~ your out the door!
you use it by applying it (drawing) to the bottom of your nail ( you underneath of your nails that exposed. it makes the apperance of whiter nail tips.
Okay, its for the white part of your nail and you apply it with a bit of water underneath the white part to make the tips of your nails even whiter.

They aren't much use if you keep your nail short and are a bit fiddley to be using all the time. But, they work and last for a few days and are much cheaper than getting a french manicure.

    :)

I want to be a nail arstist wheni grow up and im tired of dots and fench...i need a cute idea for the summer:)?

well im a teenager and i have a cute bubbly personality ...and dont be afraid to give me hard ideas...im talented:) and help!!! i was thinking little peace signs with zebra behind but i could use more ideas! thanx:):) PEACE!!!!!! :)I want to be a nail arstist wheni grow up and im tired of dots and fench...i need a cute idea for the summer:)?
Hearts, tiger print, American flag for 4th of July (assuming you are American, if you're not your country's flag just because...), leopard print, giraffe spots, stars.... The possibilities are endless. Good luck.I want to be a nail arstist wheni grow up and im tired of dots and fench...i need a cute idea for the summer:)?
You sound like me (: I always get compliments on my nails. I like to do tiger or zebra and I try different color combos. It is so easy and quickl. I also do cheetah sometimes. I sometimes paint my nails 3 colors diagonaly like yellow, orange and pink. It is really cute. type in nail art on youtube. they have given me tons of ideas!
the peace signs are a really good idea but i saw this one girl whos nails were black and had rainbow pokadots on one hand and stripes on the other it was awsome also i've always wanted to do plad on my nails but it dosent turn out so well cuz im not that good at painting nails lolz but good luck =P
I was gonna say zebra print, that good, and plaid is cool. plus stars, peace SIGNS ROCK!, bright, sparkly colors. snowflakes are great for the winter season. you can also get little stickers that let you put those on your nails. hope that helps
You could make a stripe down the middle from the cuticle to the tip of the nail, and do a solid color or a simple pattern on one side and a little drawing on the other, I find splitting the nail with a line makes it so much easier to be creative.
do the french manicure in different Colors like black and hot pink or purple and pink.add rhinestones or decorations for nails.
little seagulls i got them once when i got a manicure
    flowers
By the time you grow up I don't think you will still want to be a nail artist.

I want to get nail extensions done.is it a good idea??

how long does it last for?I want to get nail extensions done.is it a good idea??
Their not called nail extensions... their acrylic/fake nails. They'll last a long time if you take care of them, but you'll need to go get them filled in at least every 2 weeks.I want to get nail extensions done.is it a good idea??
nail extensions, like acrylic nails? Nothing wrong with it - just make sure the manicurist is using clean equipment.

They last approximately 2 or 3 weeks - depending on how fast your nails grow.
depends on how u treat them
well i think you should do it it depends on how long they will stay on for if you take care of them they will last a couple weeks
I have had them for years because my nails are so weak. Not cheap! After the first time, you get them filled about every 2 weeks. The refill is a lot cheaper than the initial set. I live having them and my are very natural looking. One tip, ask at the nail salon for your own ';tools';. My salon has a little plastic box with my number on it and uses those products when I go in (nail file, buffer, etc.) Seems more sanitary to me.
there called acrylics. and they last for 2 weeks then you get them filled.

If have fake nails on and just bought a paraffin wax machine. Is it a bad idea to dip my hands in them?

Will they loosen the nails? If have fake nails on and just bought a paraffin wax machine. Is it a bad idea to dip my hands in them?
It depends on your nails. If you have polish on them, it will peel your polish off. If you have pink and white acrylic it will not hurt them one little bit. It will not loosen your nails. If have fake nails on and just bought a paraffin wax machine. Is it a bad idea to dip my hands in them?
yeah I dont think i would dip them in the parrafin it proabably woulnt loosen them but fake nails are not very clean alot of stuff might be hideing under there and that stuff might stick to your parrafin and bacteria likes warm unless you change the parrafin everytime you use it or if you clean your nails very well with like a nail brush and antibacterial soap then you might be ok.
i wouldn't dip them in if i was you
    Oh God dont do itt!!!!!!

UV gel nails don't last - any ideas?

I was bought a Rio UV gel nails kit for my birthday which was really exciting cos i'm quite into all of that.

I have had loads of false nails using uv gel done professionally and the kit looked pretty good so was quite confident that i would be able to get good results. However, there seems to be a problem with the uv gel....it is really really thick and hard to apply, it takes forever to set under the lamp and my nails only last for approx 2 days - which is not long enough after spending so much time applying them. Other problem i have is that they are not pre-blended tips so there is always quite an obvious line where they have been applied - i try to file them down but worry that i'll file too much and weaken the bond.

Any tips on applying these nails? Can i heat the gel up to make it a bit easier to apply? How can i ensure the nails are blended properly? UV gel nails don't last - any ideas?
my sister dips her brush in Astone nail polish remover(any drug store)

    * dip the tip only in. do not over do it. if you think you put too much lightly run it across a napkin.

    then apply the gel.

Makes it easy-er to shape, but takes longer to dry. by 15 mins or so.

Hope that helpsUV gel nails don't last - any ideas?
WELL YOU NEED TO MAKE SURE YOU ARE FILLING YOUR NAILS AND USING THE PRIMER BEFORE YOU APPLY THE GEL.
Just use the acrylic powder; it last longer and is easy to apply
    Yes, grow your own!
hiya you could either gow your own or get accrylics put on they last for ages
