The outside of my house is Paneling so there is no wood to hammer in nails or even staples. I want to put the lights around my windows so how do i do this? Is there any kind of tape for the outside that snow or rain wont ruin? How to put up christmas lights on outside paneling of house without using nails or staples?? any idea?
Are your windows flush with the paneling? If not, then you should be able to buy clips that will clip onto the sides of the windows. Go to any store that sells lights to find them. If not, you can put the lights on the inside of your windows, where people will still be able to see them from the outside. How to put up christmas lights on outside paneling of house without using nails or staples?? any idea?
Do you mean vinyl? If it is you can buy clips, 0---0, like that, they fold around the wire and a small screw will go in through both holes into the siding. If it's something that won't hold a screw, there are some excellent caulking products you could use to 'glue' the wire on around the window. For either the clips or caulking go to a Good building centre with knowledgeable staff ( Home Depot or Rona will Not help, you want career oriented help here, not min. wage staff) There is a company making PL Premium, I know they are good for interior, recently heard they released some exterior caulks, might be the answer you need. And tape, if you found something claiming to work, it would be a short term gimmick. I've worked on home exteriors since '96, I've never seen any tape that even claims to stand up to the elements.
There isn't any kind of tape that would be successful for this. Yes, there is tape that will hold up the lights, though it doesn't work so well in cold weather, but you'd have to use so much that you'll have tape all over your siding and it'll be VERY hard to get it off later. Poor idea. If you have gutters, they'd be the best place to hang lights from.
You didn't mention whether your house has gutters or not. If it does, there are plastic clips that can be used to hang lights from on the gutters and they can be picked up at Wal Mart, Home Depot, or Lowe's. I hope that helps.
