A comfortable and cute length would be so that the nail just sticks out from the tip of your finger (when looking at your palm) by about 1/8 inch. A squared off tip with a little bit of rounding out at the sides should be good.





At that length any color/shade of bright or dull opaque polishes look great, and not like talons. (Many people, both female and male, find really long nails to be nasty and unattractive) - with the length I described, they'd still be long enough to look cute and feminine, but be practical and appeal to a wider range of people.
